Colorado Trip

Last weekend, I got a wild hair and decided to drive to Colorado to visit my sister-in-law. The girls wanted to see snow, and home was just sloshy and rainy, so we set out on a great adventure. The first day we got here (Tuesday afternoon)we did this:

Then on Wednesday we went to Denver to the Museum which you saw photos of in the last post. Today, Thursday, was a HUGE day. We started out at this place:

Amazingly beautiful is all I can say. It was breathtaking. The Garden of the Gods is in Ali's front yard (almost.) She gets to see the big mountain with snow on it EVERYDAY...Pike's Peak. You know, it's famous.

Some other fun pics from The Garden are the girls at Balanced Rock (you may recognize it from a car commercial recently.)

After that, Ali showed us Manitou Springs which we didn't get to explore much, but we saw the famous "Incline," where she often runs. See the white line of snow down the mountain? That is the "Incline." You can barely see Pike's Peak behind and to the left in the photo.

The most interesting thing about the "Incline" is that it is where Apollo Ohno runs! Maybe she will run into him one day.

And if that wasn't enough, we went to the Focus on the Family Headquarters and played in "The Adventures in Odyssey" themed playground, had puppet shows, and relaxed.

And after the girls caught snow on their tongues and marveled at the HUGE snowflakes coming down, we ended our night singing "Kokomo" and "I Want Candy" at the top of our lungs (OK, maybe that was just Ali and me,) but not before we ate ice cream at Josh and John's in downtown Colorado Springs.

Who says it has to be hot outside to enjoy ice cream?
