New Year's Resolution-Organized

This year, my main resolution is to be more organized. In this attempt at organization, for me, that means, keep my house clean, my laundry done, my coupons organized, and stay on top of my menu. Hopefully, in this effort of organization, I will automatically complete all my other New Year's Resolutions. I will spare the details of this lengthy list of Resolutions, but I will tell you that today I: prayed a little more than usual, worked out, ate a healthy lunch, put away all the laundry, cleaned the bathroom, swept all the floors, didn't go shopping, spoke on the phone with an old friend, and rewarded myself with peanut m&m's. I am definitely on schedule--except for the m&m bit.

I don't want to be negative, but I thought this day might be the only one of the year that my house was clean. Remember in PeeWee's Big Adventure when PeeWee Herman says, "Take a picture...it'll last longer." ? Well, that is what I decided to do and hopefully it will inspire me to keep it clean.

And this is a picture of a chest of drawers of my mother's. I love it. It is odd that a chest of drawers is in the living room, but it reminds me of her, and it is my house, and I can decorate it how I want. (Is that a run-on?)

And because I like my house, and we have put a lot of hard work into making it liveable(because it definitely wasn't liveable-except by rodents and termites-when we bought it last year,) I would like to show off the other view of my living room.

And I guess you have to see where I shoved everything before I took this picture (just kidding.) It is the armoir that Matt inherited from his Uncle Joe and the cedar chest bought at a yard sale with my birthday money a few years ago. And if you look close, on top of the chest is an expandable file given to me by my friend Courtney as a birthday gift to help "organize" my coupons. It is waiting for a trip to Walgreens. And it is organized...which was the whole point of this post...I think.

The house really looks great PJ! I have serious clean house envy now - thanks. :)

I have always loved your placement of a dresser in the living room. It is unexpected, and not to mention that the piece itself if beautiful. Something treasured like that deserves a place front and center in your home.

Glad your organizer is working out!
